It’s the name of this blog.

And its a way of life (okay, that’s a bit dramatic, but stay with me…)

I first started this blog in an attempt to connect with other parents of pediatric cancer patients. I picked kidsgetcancer.com because I thought it might be easier to find in search engines and, well, kids do get cancer. But something didn’t feel right.

A year later, I’m still trying to figure out my point, but I think changing the name to Cam’s High Five is getting closer.

For those of you who know my son Cameron, there’s absolutely no explanation needed.

For those of you who haven’t met my little hero in person, here’s the deal…he’s had a rough go, but he refuses to give up.

And high fives are his favorite!

Things in this life can be sad, scary or painful. So what do you do? Smile and give someone a high five.

Kindness. Resilience. Optimism. Hope.

That’s a high five from Cam.

  1. This title does not suck! 😉 Great, positive message here. Cam is such a sweet, happy guy. I love his high fives! Hugs and kisses to both of you and the rest of your family.

  2. Please give Cam a high five from his Great G-Ma Marilyn, the one who sang ALL the verses of Hush, Little Baby to him while he sat on her lap on Christmas Day! Love to Cam and all his family, Marilyn
